Artificial flowers are a great alternative to real flowers – they last longer and cost quite a bit less! But if you're of the mindset that artificial flowers are a waste of time – or if you think they require a much more advanced DIY spirit than you currently possess to make use of them – these 3 tricks are sure to change your mind.
To get started, you'll need the following supplies:
- artificial flowers
- water
- modeling plaster
- wooden sticks
- rubber gloves
1. Flower Frame
You'll Need:
- picture frame
- hot glue gun
- spray paint
1.1 Stir the modeling plaster with water and dip the flowers into the mixture (it's best to wear gloves to avoid making a mess).
1.2 Hang the flowers up to dry.
1.3 Remove the back and glass from the picture frame. Use a hot glue gun to paint the flowers onto the frame and then spray paint the entire thing for a finished look.

2. Flower Napkin Ring
You'll Need:
- wooden napkin ring
- hot glue gun
- white spray paint
Here's How:
2.1 Dip the artificial flowers into the paster mixture and let them dry. Then glue a flower to a napkin ring using hot glue. Spray the floral napkin ring with white paint, let it dry, and your elegant table decoration is all ready.

You'll Need:
- parchment paper
- sheet pan
Here's How:
3.1 Tea light holders are best suited for larger flowers, such as sunflowers . Remove the attached flower bud and dip the petals in the plaster mixture.

3.3 Once the flowers have dried, repeats Steps #1 and #2. After they have set, the flowers make a great candle holder for tea lights.
