HEAVENS GATE (ELLA'S) WALTZ/MAMOU 2 STEP

This is taken from Michael Cimino's much maligned (and unjustly so) 1980 movie 'Heaven's Gate'. The 2 step is played as a whole bunch of people dance on roller skates. One of the most unforgettable scenes in movie history. Seeing as the film's plot centres on the horrendous way European farmers (many of whom were Scandinavian), were treated by cattle interests in the US in the 1890's, it seems fitting to play these tunes on a Scandinavian instrument, the Swedish Nyckelharpa, which I'm sure many of those settlers would have owned and played, even though none appear in the movie.
