Popo's Lo Mein (ft. my Chinese Grandma)
In this video, I'll be cooking with my grandma! :-). We are making Chinese Lo Mein (mixed stir-fried noodles) with ingredients that we have around the house. Big shoutout to my Grandma "Popo" she has been cooking delicious meals my whole life.
The recipe below (no measurements):
Ingredients:
Napa cabbage
Green cabbage
Carrots
Celery
Chicken thighs cut into strips and marinated in soy sauce, oyster sauce, and corn starch
Lo Mein Noodles or any noodles or pasta
To taste:
Soy sauce
Oyster sauce
Procedure:
Cut the napa cabbage, green cabbage, carrots, and celery into roughly the same size. Then cut the chicken thighs into strips and marinate them with soy sauce, oyster sauce, and corn starch. Next, we saute the vegetables in a pan with corn oil and added some water to the pan to steam them. Then we cooked the noodles in boiling water for 3min. We removed the noodles and rinsed them under cold water to stop the cooking process. Next in a new pan with some oil, we sauteed the chicken thighs. When they were 80% cooked, we added in the cooked noodles followed by the soy sauce and oyster sauce to taste. To finish it, we added the cooked vegetables into the pan and mixed everything together on medium heat for 1-2min.
