CUMMINS ONAN RV GAS GENERATORS - ULTIMATE MAINT. GUIDE - Part 1

🔧In todays RV, DIY, How-To Video, we going to be performing our Onan RV Gas Generator scheduled annual maintenance. If your having problems with your Onan generator of any kind, like starting, running smoothly, or you're not sure how to service it, this video series is for you. This Onan Generator video series will also show you how to keep your generator running in top notch condition.
We do all our motorhome and Onan generator maintenance every year BEFORE we head out on the road for another year of RVing. Because, RV generator maintenance is important. This annual, scheduled, RV generator preventative maintenance is an easy DIY job. We do most, if not all of our motorhome and Onan RV 5500 gas generator maintenance in the winter and sometimes it runs over into early spring. But some of you may have to wait till late spring depending on where you live. We have a Cummins Onan RV 5,500-watt Marquis Gold HGJAB (E-Series) RV Generator. But you may have a little different model, but it doesn’t matter. Everything we cover here are basic things you should be doing to your generator all the time. You don’t want to wait till your RV Gas Generator breaks down, has gas or fuel problems or doesn’t run right and then decide to deal with it. This 3 Part Series covers cleaning the outside of the Onan RV Gas Generator, changing the oil, changing the oil filter, changing the air filter, cleaning and checking all the electrical contacts, cleaning out the Onan generator spark arrester, changing the spark plugs, exercising your generator and so on. I encourage you to be proactive and do these annual scheduled maintenance items now, before you get on the road. Doing your scheduled annual RV generator maintenance will insure that it performs for 10’s of thousands of hours and will deliver the power you need when you need it.

These annual maintenance generator items you should be doing are not difficult to learn, and there not particularly difficult to do. They are all DIY.
