My solo day hike to Wildcat Mountain’s A & D peaks following an Appalachian Trail NH section on the Wildcat Ridge Trail located in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Wildcat Mountain’s A & D peaks both count for the New Hampshire 48 4000 Footer (NH48) hiking list and the Wildcat Ridge Trail counts as an elective for The Terrifying 25 (T25) hiking list. The New Hampshire 48 4000 Footer list, created by the Appalachian Mountain Club, consists of 48 mountains in New Hampshire with elevations of at least 4,000 feet and a minimum of 200 feet prominence. The Terrifying 25 list, created by Trish, Alex, and Sage Herr, consists of the most interesting White Mountains trails that have slides, rock scrambles, or boulder caves. The Appalachian Trail or simply the A.T., is a hiking trail extending 2,200 miles between Springer Mountain in Georgia and Mount Katahdin in Maine.
