The Sewing Room: What is a Sewing Pattern?

In this video, I talk about what a Sewing Pattern is and what it consists of.
1) The paper pattern is like a blueprint for your 3D garment. It's the shapes you need to cut out to make whatever you are working on.
2) Your pattern comes with an envelope, pattern instructions and the paper pattern.
3) Some patterns are made from stiff paper and some are made from tissue paper
4) There is lots of important information on each pattern pieces, such as what piece of the garment you are sewing (name) and how many pieces of that pattern piece to cut. There are also grainlines which we discuss in another video.
