Dale, Jr. Goes Over "It Hurts So Good" - 2018 Go Bowling at the Glen

In a segment that aired in the 2018 Go Bowling at the Glen Countdown to Green, Kyle Petty sits down in what looks like a precursor to his wonderful "Coffee with Kyle" series with Dale Earnhardt, Jr. for one of his #DaleTales. Dale goes over what he remembers when his father crashed at the 1996 DieHard 500 where he broke his sternum and left clavicle. He had to get out of his car in the first caution of the Brickyard 400 the next week and said it was one of the hardest things he had to do. Then, when he came to Watkins Glen the next week, instead of resting or taking it easy, he sat on the pole. Dale stated after qualifying that "it hurt so good" and the quote sold out thousands of t-shirts that went on sale at the track before the race.

I added actual race footage and spliced it in to the short interview to help bring more perspective on how Dale was covered during those three weeks. I know Dr. Jerry Punch went over this from his perspective in his Dale Jr. Download episode and I highly recommend listening to it.
