A viewer and I were talking about sitar fundamentals and I said I would make a video discussing the Da and Ra stroke. This is a key fundamental technique and something I see a lot of self-taught and beginner sitar players struggling with.

Da = strumming the string while closing your hand
Ra = strumming the string while opening your hand.
