Hudson Veterans Day 2018 Lance Wheeler Video

New York State Police Captain, Kathryne Rohde, Troop K, Zone 1, Livingston Barracks, will be the guest speaker at the Hudson Veterans Day services to be held in the City of Hudson on Sunday, November 11th. Services will begin at 10:15am with the laying of the wreath at the Veterans Monument located at 7th Street Park in Hudson. The American Flag will be raised and Scott Vorwald, Hudson High School Band Director will play “To the Colors”. Seventh Street will be closed from 9:45am to 10:45am where the parade line will assemble. The parade will then commence from Seventh Street Park, down Warren Street and across Fourth Street to the Court House Park where services will be held. East and West Court Streets will be closed from 10:00am to 11:30am. The Parade will be led by the Hudson Police Escort followed by the Renegade Pigs Motor Cycle Club, the American Flags, Hoysradt Fire Company #8 Drum Corps, Various Veterans and Civic Organizations Flags, Columbia County Sheriff’s Office Color Guard, New York State Police Color Guard, Veterans, the VFW Auxiliaries, the Veterans Float, Guest Speaker Captain Rohde, Hudson Mayor, City Officials & VIP’s, the Hudson High School Band, Cub Scout Pack 102, Boy Scout Troop 102, Cub Scout Pack 130, World War II Jeep, US Coast Guard Jeep, the Columbia County Veterans Van, 93.5 Fire Truck, The Hudson Fire Police, J.W. Edmonds Hose Company #1, H.W. Roger Hose Company #2, C.H. Evans Hook & Ladder Company #5, Hoysradt Hose Company #8 and the Greenport Rescue Squad. Those Veterans unable to march can ride the American Legion Float or the County Veterans Van and must be at the Shop Rite Parking lot adjacent to the Off-Track Betting Building by 9:00am.
The Master of Ceremonies for the day will be Vince Grimaldi, Columbia County VFW Post 1314. A bugle “Call to Assembly” will be played by Devin Middleton, Hudson High School Band Member, followed by the invocation given by Rabbi Daniel Fried, Congregation Anshe-Emeth, The Pledge of Allegiance will be next, led by Joe Drabick, Commander Columbia County VFW Post 1314, followed by the Star Spangled Banner played by the Hudson High School Band.
The welcoming remarks will be given by Hudson Mayor Rick Rector. “America” will then be played by the Hudson High School Band and Jeane LaPorta, Regent Hendricks Hudson Chapter National Daughters of the American Revolution will lay the wreath at the WWII monument. Guest Speaker Captain Kathryne Rohde will speak and God Bless America will be sung by Christina Kokonis-Viggers in memory of all who served.
The names of those citizens of Columbia County New York, who have made the ultimate sacrifice and gave their lives in defense of our great nation in times of conflict, will be read as follows: WWI: Ed Coons, WWII: John Neary, Terry Vogel & Gary Wallace, Korea: Jack Hallenbeck, Vietnam-Beirut-Iraq-Afghaniztan: Randy Staats. The Benediction will be given by Reverend Ed Cross, Endless Love Temple.
Providing the Rifle Salute will be American Legion Post 184 with the playing of Taps by

Devin Middleton and Neil Mingua, Members of the Hudson High School Band.

Captain Kathryne Rohde was born and raised in Bay Shore, New York and moved upstate to Greene County in 1994. She attended and graduated from Cairo-Durham High School in 1995, and then attended Columbia-Greene Community College receiving an Associate’s degree in Criminal Justice. She continued her college studies at SUNY Albany, receiving her Bachelor’s degree in 1998, and her Master’s degree in 2005. Captain Rohde attended and graduated from the New York State Police Academy in 1999. After graduating from the NYS Police Academy, Captain Rohde began her career across the river in Troop F, where she served as both a trooper and Sergeant. In 2012, she was promoted to Lieutenant and served in Internal Affairs, Computer Crimes, and was the Assistant Zone Commander in Troop K – Zone 2. On July 14, 2017, she was promoted to Captain and served as the Troop K Zone 2 Commander for several months before transferring to Troop K headquarters and serving as the Troop Administrative Captain. In June of this year she received her transfer to Zone 1, where she is currently serving as the Zone Commander. Captain Rohde has served approximately 19 ½ years with the New York State Police and is honored and privileged to serve the residents of northern Dutchess and Columbia counties and looks forward to forging strong community partnerships. Captain Rohde currently resides in the town of South Cairo with her son, Mark and daughter Hailey
