But hardly anyone knows that the Port of Hamburg has an infrastructure of rails that is in no way inferior to shipping traffic. The Hamburg Port Railway supplies the hinterland, which reaches as far as Hungary, Romania and Austria. The Hamburg Port Railway is Europe's largest railway port. It is the backbone of the hinterland supply. The enormous quantities of goods usually travel over the rails at night, in the so-called night jump.
