"Lady in the Lake" killer launches fresh appeal

The family of so-called "lady in the lake" killer Gordon Park launch a fresh appeal against his 2005 conviction for the murder of his first wife Carol, who went missing in 1976. Her body was discovered in Coniston Water in 1997. Park committed suicide in 2010 while serving a life sentence for her murder. Dame Victoria Sharp, along with Mr Justice Sweeney and Mrs Justice May, are hearing the case at the Royal Courts of Justice in London after the Criminal Cases Review Commission referred it to the Court of Appeal as a potentially unsafe conviction. Henry Blaxland QC appears for the Park family, with Richard Whittam QC responding for the Crown.
