Parque das Nações, Lisbon, Portugal

Today is our third full day in Lisbon, Portugal. Imo and Izzy are having a mummy/daughter day. We head out on foot from our Airbnb accommodation in the Bairro Alto down to the Chiado Metro station, stopping to admire the scenery and peer into shop windows as we go.

Imo demonstrates how to check your travelcard credit with the Metro ticket machine and shows the way to the Lisbon Oceanarium, via Oriente Metro station.

As usual, we get a little bit lost on the way, but eventually find ourselves in the spacious, airy and rather magnificent Parque das Naçoēs - former home of Expo 98. We take in sights, sounds and a bit of a picnic before finally heading into the Oceanarium itself.

I made a mistake regarding the year I did my exchange - I believe it was a year later than I guessed - 1997.

Check out our next upload for the trip to the oceanarium. There was too much footage for one vlog, today, and we didn't want to skimp on the beautiful and enchanting scenes from inside the aquarium simply for the sake of brevity ; ¬)
