Rooster Vs. Hawk - Part 2.

A day or 2 after her first kill, the hawk returns. My white Silkie Rooster had escaped the coop earlier and was getting outmaneuvered by the hawk. Luckily, my family alerted me to the situation, and I was able to get Barnaby back inside safely. The video doesn't do it justice, compared to how big this bird looks in person.

I have free ranged 2 flocks in my yard since 2014, and this is the first predator loss I have seen, though I suspect I lost a rooster to a predator over 5 years ago. Considering during this same 6 years, I have lost a lot more birds to fighting or illness. In the bigger scope of things, predation has been almost nonexistent, and a very low risk for the flock.
