2026 Genesis GV70 Luxury SUV #shorts #shortvideo #shortsvideo #genesis #genesisgv70
The Genesis GV70 is one of our favorite compact luxury SUVs because it expertly balances performance, luxury, and curb appeal. Its sharp exterior design is complemented by a luxury-car interior with lots of available technology. There are models in this segment such as the Porsche Macan that offer more performance but the GV70’s standard turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder and optional twin-turbo 3.5-liter V-6 both provide good power and impressive refinement. Well-equipped and priced more than competitively, the GV70 is a compelling choice—it won a spot on our 10Best list in 2023 and 2024—and the latest updates coming for 2026 to its tech and appearance should only enhance its appeal. There’s also an electric version called the Electrified GV70 that we review separately.
The big news is the addition of a 27.0-inch widescreen display that stretches across much of the dashboard and serves as both the digital gauge cluster and the central infotainment screen. The climate controls also use a new touchpad lower on the console. On the outside, those with a keen eye will spot tweaks including new headlights, a new grille pattern, new wheel designs, and a few additional visual enhancements for the Sport trim level. Genesis also said it has made small changes to the steering and suspension to improve the ride and handling.
Engine and Performance
The GV70 is available with either a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder or a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6 engine. The four-cylinder serves as the entry-level engine and makes 300 horsepower, while the V-6 has a potent 375 hp. All GV70s have an eight-speed automatic and all-wheel drive standard. During our test drive of the 2026 GV70, we noted its athleticism, especially in the Sport Plus driving mode, and the twin-turbo V-6 pulled strong. Even the base four-cylinder model is acceptably quick in our experience, and it is pleasant to drive. While the GV70 isn't as adept at handling twisty roads as the Porsche Macan, it's still possible to have fun behind the wheel. And when you're hoping to commute in comfort, the Genesis easily code-switches into a luxury car.
We expect the 2026 GV70 to get to 60 mph in around 5.8 seconds for the four-cylinder model and 4.8 seconds for the V-6 model. We'll update this section with numbers when we test the GV70 for ourselves.
Interior and Cargo
The GV70's cabin design is more daring than its larger GV80 sibling's, and the 2026 updates should freshen things up significantly. The new display screens look crisp, and we’re hoping that the touch-sensitive climate controls aren’t too fussy. We already liked how the sweeping lines of the exterior carried into the interior for a cohesive and fashionable look. Fine materials cover the interior surfaces, and the knurled glass shift knob looks and feels luxurious. A common complaint about the G70 sedan is its cramped rear seat, and while the GV70 has adequate space to offer and additional legroom for back-seat riders, it's still not particularly roomy. Cargo capacity is more generous; we fit seven carry-on suitcases in the outgoing model behind the rear seats and 22 in total with the rear seats stowed. That's more than we fit in the Audi Q5 but less than we fit in the Lexus RX.
Infotainment and Connectivity
A single, huge 27.0-inch display screen will be offered in the updated 2026 GV70, but we don’t yet know if it will be standard equipment or optional on certain models. It serves as both the digital gauge cluster and the central infotainment display, and it appears to have both a touchscreen and a central control knob like before. Genesis will likely offer new connectivity features with this updated setup, but we’ll have to wait to get more details on the infotainment software and entertainment functions.
