Carving a Dolphin from a Pearl Mussel Shell

This is the process that i use to make mother-of-pearl carvings! It only a rotary tool, flap sanders, a diamond coated cut-off wheel, and a buffing wheel, as well as a bit of sandpaper! Using these steps, you can make a mother-of-pearl carving of just about anything that you can think of; I often make dolphins, manatees, sharks, and much more using this process! Once you get the hang of it, you can easily make one from start to finish in under an hour! Also, you can truly use any shell that you desire, including fresh and saltwater mussels, abalone, volutes, lucine, and many, many more! Remember to ALWAYS use a proper mask when carving shells!
