Trump's first impeachment - 2020

Sen. John Kennedy, R-La., said he will vote to acquit President Donald Trump of the articles of impeachment. Kennedy said Democrats have claimed Trump is out of control. “What they really mean is the president is out of their control, and that is not grounds for impeachment.”

On Tuesday, Senators weighed in for a second day on how they will vote on whether to remove Trump from office. The speeches come one day before the Senate will decide whether to convict or acquit Trump on — abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. After the Senate voted last week to bar new witness testimony and subpoenas for documents, Trump’s acquittal has seemed all but assured. The House of Representatives impeached Trump in December.
