Mid-Wales Red Squirrel Project on ITV Wales at Six

The Mid Wales Red Squirrel Partnership (MWRSP) has announced that it is expanding its focal site to include Cwm rhaeadr and Upper Tywi. This increased area represents an important step in conserving the last remaining genetically unique population of red squirrels in Wales.

The expansion comes as a response to changes in the range of the red squirrels, to reflect the current range of this species. For example, red squirrels have been observed at Cwm rhaeadr in the previous 18 months.
