"Pakistan's Division of POK Explained" | #shorts

A large portion of **Jammu and Kashmir** is under **Pakistan's control**, which India refers to as **POK (Pakistan Occupied Kashmir)**. However, most people don’t know that **Pakistan itself divides this region into three parts**.

The first is **Azad Kashmir**. While the name means "Free Kashmir," in reality, it functions under **Pakistan's control**. It has its own **President, Prime Minister, and separate laws**, but the **real power lies entirely with Pakistan**.

Now, if we look at the **Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir**, it is divided into several important regions:

1. **Kashmir Valley** – Though geographically small, it holds **major political importance** in the region and has been at the center of the Kashmir conflict.
2. **Jammu Region** – Known for its **religious and cultural diversity**, it is home to various communities coexisting peacefully.
3. **Siachen Glacier** – This is the **world's highest battlefield**, located in extremely harsh conditions and is under the control of the **Indian Army**.
4. **Ladakh** – The **largest region** in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh is divided into two main districts: **Kargil** and **Leh**.

An important part of Ladakh is **Aksai Chin**, which is currently under **Chinese control**, but India also considers it an integral part of its territory.

Together, these regions reflect the **complex geopolitical situation** in Jammu and Kashmir, involving **India, Pakistan, and China**, and remain one of the most sensitive areas in South Asia.
