President Biden ended this week of high-stakes meetings by traveling to a location near the Ukrainian border in a gesture of continued allied resolve in the battle against Russian aggression. In Poland, a front-line NATO nation, the U.S. leader met and thanked members of the 82nd Airborne Division. Before flying home he will meet refugees and deliver an address. Meanwhile, the U.S. and Europe are keeping the pressure on. Before President Biden left for Poland, he and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced a joint task force to wean Europe from its dependence on Russian oil and gas. Christine Lagarde is president of the European Central Bank, and in an exclusive interview with Christiane, she warns that the costs to Europe and the global economy are rising.
