Man in custody in Florida, 2-month-old found safe after alleged kidnapping in Macon: BSO

A 2-month-old baby was found safe an hour after an Amber Alert after he was allegedly taken by a 23-year-old man Sunday morning, according to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCEMC).

According to a release from the Bibb County Sheriff's Office, Montez Harris, a 2-month-old, was found safe just after 5:20 p.m. They were alerted by the Florida State Patrol.

The NCEMC said Maurtez Edwards, 23, who was driving a 2016 Silver Ford F-150 truck, allegedly kidnapped Harris around 11 a.m. at 1745 Rocky Creek Road in Macon at the Autumn Trace Apartments.

The sheriff's office said Edwards was stopped in Liberty County, Florida and was taken into custody by police.
