There are actually several different related dialects in Tibet that fall in the “Tibetic” language language group, but I’ve been learning Lhasa Tibetan, which is the standard based on the Lhasa dialect. There are many Tibetans who live in New York City, particularly in Jackson Heights, Queens, and today we went out to get some great Tibetan food like momos and of course butter tea!
