Magnificent Architecure Xi'an Belltower!

The ceiling of the Xi'an Bell Tower is a masterpiece of Ming Dynasty craftsmanship, featuring a coffered design (known as caisson or zaojing) characterized by intricate, checkered patterns.

I used a Kaleidoscope filter for some of the transitions, do you like the results?
Key Decorative Features: The interior ceilings are adorned with traditional colorful paintings and gilded decorations from the Ming and Qing eras. These include swirling and square motifs, often in vibrant blue, green, and gold tones.
Construction Technique: True to traditional Chinese architecture, the ceiling and roof structure were built using a complex timber bracket system (dougong) that requires no nails or screws.
Painted Elements: The beams and rafters supporting the ceiling are also heavily painted and engraved, contributing to the tower's "stylish" and "dramatic" interior aesthetic.
