Ranya Rao's Arrest: On March 3, 2025, Ranya Rao was apprehended at Bengaluru's Kempegowda International Airport with 14.2 kilograms of 24-karat gold concealed on her person, valued at over ₹12.56 crore. ​

Tarun Raj's Involvement: Investigations revealed that Tarun Raj had close ties with Ranya Rao, with records indicating over 25 joint trips to Dubai. Evidence suggests that Ranya Rao assisted Tarun Raj in purchasing flight tickets for these trips, allegedly facilitating smuggling operations.

Arrest Details: Following Ranya Rao's arrest, Tarun Raj attempted to evade authorities by fleeing to Hyderabad. However, the DRI apprehended him on March 10, 2025, and he is currently under judicial custody.
