Moving to Rural Ecuador (Campo)

Moving to rural Ecuador. I’ve been living on and off in Ecuador for about 7 years, sometimes in beach towns, but usually in Quito or suburbs of Quito. Now, it’s time to leave the city and move to the countryside. Beautiful landscapes, avocado and mandarin trees, dogs on the roof, and friendly people, everything you would expect from small town Ecuador. I made a few runs to the new apartment before everyone else to move our delicate and expensive stuff, and to give our cat a chance to settle in before the craziness of moving all our stuff. Yes, we moved away from Quito Ecuador to escape the pandemic, but I've also wanted to move to a rural area for a long time. I'm looking forward to exploring the dry forest, harvesting agave and cactus fruit, and learning how to live in this beautiful place. For as long as I can remember I've dreamed of creating a tiny paradise to escape the troubles of the world. I feel like this place has brought be one big step closer to finding my place in this world.
