Demo a Day- Strays and Smiles

Welcome to another Demo a Day! This song is actually a fully written song that I wrote when I was 18/19 although for this demo I didn't like the way it sounded with the bass and drums, so I created a more stripped back version with just the guitar. I play through each guitar section of the song, the verse, the chorus and the bridge. I'm not overly happy with the sound quality of this one compared to previous uploads, but I'm still trying to remember that it's just a demo, it's not mean to be perfect.

As I mentioned, this is a demo of a fully written song of mine that I wrote when I was around 18/19. I wrote it at a time when I was feeling very lost and left behind in life, as most of my friends had gone to university and I was still trying to figure out what to do with my life (not much has changed there). The title of the song comes from a line in the first verse which goes, 'Strays and smiles are all that's left behind'. Despite it's sad meaning I really like the guitar part for this song, as it uses a finger picking technique, which I haven't used very often in my writing, so it was cool to write something a little different to my usual style.
