Our visit to Washington, D.C., was packed with history, stories, and unexpected events. After taking the Amtrak from New York City, we arrived to find the city buzzing with activity.

It was the day President Biden announced he wouldn’t run again, and rallies were happening near the White House due to Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu’s visit. Despite the scorching heat and the Lincoln Memorial being under construction, we explored the memorials and learned the moving stories behind them.

Highlights included a tour of the U.S. Capitol and admiring the stunning architecture of the Library of Congress. We wrapped up the day with a quick trip to Virginia to meet friends—a memorable blend of history and connections!
