Today I interview Jimmy and Alia of JELA's Ark, a young family from Texas who moved to Puerto Rico to build their own off-grid homestead, organic farm, and future eco-tourism destination.

They share how they found their land, how they negotiated the real estate purchase from the owner without the help of an agent, and why they chose Puerto Rico as their place to begin their self-sustainable lifestyle project.

They also talk about some of the challenges they've faced relocating their family, building their own home in Puerto Rico, securing power and water—all while learning to grow their own food on a steep, ocean view mountainside as newbie farmers in a tropical climate.
