How much can life change in one year?

Last year at this time, our life has looked so different. We didn't know what to study exactly and how the future will develop. But we decided to trust in life and when the time was right it was all cristal clear.

A little overview of what happened last year :D

In February we came back from several months travelling, which was an incredible experience. Estella was super fresh and energetic and it't didnt felt like we have been away for months.
Tanja and Estella had a performance at a horse fair and also we travelled through Germany, where all the trainers of the Mustang Makeover 2018 met. It was choosen randomly, which wild horse comes to which trainer and this was reeaally exiting. We got the photo of a beautiful mare, but we needed to wait till april till we finally met her.

We spend a lot of time with deciding what to study after our year abroad. Also, we were planning our trip with several horses through France during summer. Our plan was to hike with three horses, without a fixed route and without save places to sleep. We wanted to look spontaneously everyday where we stay over night.
A tour like that has been a dream of us for a long time already.

In March we got the chance to go to the place of Philippe Karl in France and watch him training his horse. It was a fantastic experience and we also got to know amazing new friends.

At the end of march two horses for our trip though France arrived: Don and Sage. We spend a lot of time with preparing them for a save trip.
In April, the Mustang for the event has joined our team aswell. We decided to call her Feenja, as she has a kind of magic around her.

In the end of May, all horses were ready for the trip and after a really stressfull time we had all the stuff we need for us and the horses. We decided to take Estella with us instead of Sage, because the responsibility for three strange horses was very big and also what would we do without our wonderful horse Estella?

We actually did it!!! We walked six weeks with the horses through France and "tamed" our Mustangs Feenja and Don meanwhile. The got both very relaxed and good friends with humans.

In France Bettina has made the decicion to buy Don and give him a forever home. It has simply clicked with these two and it was definitely time for her to finally have her own horse.

After France Tanja had three more weeks to prepare Feenja for the Mustang Makeover at the beginning of August. Although Feenja has made an AMAZING progress, we didn't have a very good feeling to perform with her, because of her shy character and kind heart.
But in the end it went all well and she has found her PERFECT home. So happy!

During the summer we gave some clinics and moved with Don and a lot of stuff to the new city, where we started to study in October. The decicion to leave Estella at home wasn't an easy one, but she is in a huge herd since 2012 and we wanted her to stay there. She's happy, Tanja's mum takes care of her and we can visit her during the weekend.

In the new city there came a horse for training. Rune, a five years old PRE mare. She has made some bad experiences, was headshy and afraid of whips. Riding wasn't really possible, she was nervous and afraid. After 1,5 months of working on the ground, Tanja could start riding her and it went all really well.

After a lot of action during his first months in Germany, Don was very tired during summer and autumn and over a period of three months, he didn't trot voluntary in the arena. Bettina decided not to push him, but to give him time and with the start of winter he regained his energy.

The year has ended very busy with a lot of stuff to do for university and crazy awesome plans for 2019.
Yeah, that was a short summary of our adventures with the horses in 2018! It has happened so much. Personally, it hasn't always been easy and we had some dark times too, but we have also learned a lot.

We're so thankful for everything we could experience this year and all the new, wonderful people in our lifes.
