Donald Trump Issues 24-Hour Ultimatum to China to Reverse Tariffs, Vows 50% Additional Tariffs

During a bilateral meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, US President Donald Trump firmly ruled out any pause on tariffs for negotiation. He stressed the importance of striking "fair deals" with countries and criticized China for imposing an additional 34% tariff on top of already high rates. Trump warned that if China doesn’t roll back the new tariff, the US will retaliate with a further 50% hike. While expressing respect for President Xi Jinping and hoping to maintain good relations, Trump blamed previous US administrations for enabling China’s economic rise. He called this a “one shot” opportunity to correct unfair trade practices and linked America’s $36 trillion debt to bad trade decisions of the past.
