Toyin Kolawole, CEO of Iya Foods, has what some might call "the entrepreneurial gene." She grew up in Nigeria, where she was inspired by her mother and many other women in her life, who ran successful businesses to support their families and communities.

After leaving her job in finance and seeing potential in the growing gluten-free industry, Toyin turned to her Nigerian roots for inspiration. Her cassava-based products quickly gained popularity in the Amazon store. Now, the Chicago-based business has gone from startup to online retailer to large-scale manufacturer.

As her business grows, Toyin continues to stay true to her roots by building shared prosperity for both her team in the U.S. and for farmers in Nigeria.
