Budget will address 'economic equality' for women
Finance Minister Katy Gallagher discussed the “financial insecurity” links to violence amid questions about how the budget will seek to address the surge in domestic violence in Australia.
“This has been our whole push on economic equality for women,” Ms Gallagher added.
“Whether its improving payments women are on, whether it's the wages in the feminised industries, whether its extra support for childcare.
“Making sure we’re driving the economic independence or equality of women…so that it reduces the risk of violence in the family unit.”
