Episode 4: The 100 year old Elizabeth Street Pumphouse sits on the site of the Engagement at Forty Creek. During the War of 1812, United States forces were on retreat from a defeat at the Battle of Stoney Creek. The US army encamped on Forty Creek in what is now Grimsby, Ontario. Their camp was discovered by a British Flotilla and attacked leaving casualties and the abandonment of equipment, supplies and prisoners of war.

100 years later, the Elizabeth Street Pumphouse was built next to the lake to act as a filtration facility for the growing town of Grimsby, ON.
