Baku Gulustan Square Concept Project

Baku Gulustan Square is a mixed-use complex combining different functions such as residences, offices, commercial areas and a hotel in one place. It is situated in the center of Baku, in the vicinity of many shops and city center.

To prevent the negative effect of the surrounding urban fabric and the density, a green buffer zone is designed in the facade of the residential structure in order to create a breathing zone for the users. Additionally, the residences are terraced to turn towards the Caspian Sea view or the city scenery.

The retail base contains multiple entrances at different levels to create a connection between the surrounding streets so that the commercial areas can intertwine better with the urban context unlike the enclosed shopping centers.

The main intention of the design is to introduce a new square surrounded by different urban functions and an iconic silhouette that will become part of the city’s memorable skyline.
