(ENG) Sign of Torment is a megawad for Doom 2 that is made for Boom-compatible source ports. It was created by mapper Kain D. and first released on February 18, 2020, with the final version being uploaded to the idgames archive on December 20, 2021. The level set is centered around themes of psychological torment, representing a metaphorical descent into darkness and despair, and is divided into three episodes that are each thematically linked to a color—red, white, and black—with each episode becoming increasingly more visually abstract, often incorporating surreal layouts and frequently making use of all black and white textures and flats to distort the player's perception of space. The release thread describes the WAD's difficulty as "a mix of Doom 2 and Plutonia." It received an honorable mention at the Cacowards 2022.
