Why Finland is one of the BEST countries for van life.

To say Finland was one of our favourite countries to visit in our self converted camper van would be a serious understatement. We drove right from northern Lapland to Helsinki, passing through Kalajoki and having some extraordinary wildlife encounters (brown bears!) along the way.

Finland really does offer the ultimate escape from the rest of Europe. The forests and the wilderness is endless, and the set up and "right to roam" means that you have the freedom to enjoy being in nature unhindered. We also loved the wildlife, from reindeer on the roads to bears from secret lakeside hides, there was more wildlife in Finland than we'd seen on the rest of our trip through Europe.
