Twenty Years with Jabulani: Elephant Carer Blessmore's Story

Blessmore, one of Jabulani's dedicated carers, shares his heartfelt journey with the beloved elephant bull. Since 2002, Blessmore has been by Jabulani's side, witnessing his growth firsthand. In this touching video, Blessmore reflects on the challenges Jabulani has overcome and the special bond they share. Join us in celebrating Jabulani's journey as he turned 27 in the month of March 2024.

Blessmore shares the following:

"Good afternoon, everybody. My name is Blessmore. As you can see, I'm standing right in front of Jabulani and holding this picture. This reminds me of the time I have been with Jabulani since 2002 up to now. On the far left side on the picture we have got Blessmore, on the right side we have got Liverson. So this is the time where I've been known Jabulani for so long, up to now. So he's very special to me. I can assure you we have been together for so long, more than 20 years now with Jabulani. And I know this is not an easy way for him, Jabulani to be who he is today. He just go through a difficult situation about his life. Things was not good, but fortunately enough he was rescued and was saved with very special hands of Adine and Lente Roode. Those two, they were responsible from six months up to the age of six years. So from now onwards, I respect all of you guys for the wonderful job that you are doing. Keep it up. So Jabulani, his birthday will be next month (March). So I wish him all the best. He is going to be to turn 27 years old. Thank you so much. Enjoy your day."
