SuperFar sheet metal cutting software QLCut function: Seamless micro joining

Micro-Joints / Micro-Bridges in Sheet Metal Laser Cutting

This is a programming technique that intentionally leaves un-cut "bridges" of material between the part and the scrap skeleton. These bridges are strategically tiny and positioned at discreet locations to hold the finished parts firmly in place until the entire cutting job is complete. This prevents parts from tilting, shifting, or falling, which ensures cutting quality, protects the machine table, and allows for automated, orderly unloading.

Secures Parts in Place: Prevents part movement or collapse during cutting, crucial for thin or intricate parts.

Maintains Cutting Accuracy: Eliminates position shifts caused by dropped parts, ensuring dimensional precision.

Protects Machine Table: Prevents dropped parts from scratching or damaging the cutting grate.

Enables Automated Unloading: Allows the entire sheet (parts still attached) to be moved to a shake-out station, where a vibratory table or robot can break the micro-joints and collect parts cleanly.

Improves Workflow Safety & Order: Reduces manual handling of loose, sharp-edged parts.

Suitable for Various Metals: Effective on steel, stainless steel, aluminum, etc.
