Potting technique to multiply plants in the pot

http://www.edibleacres.org
Sharing an easy technique you may already do that can help you get many more plants from just a single or few plants when you pot them up. Certain plants are very willing to root along their stem, many common culinary herbs are like this. Oregano, Thyme, Mint, Rosemary, Lavender, Hyssop, so so many more... By being potted up in a nice large pot, settled a bit lower than normal, and having moist sawdust or potting mix added over their stems as they grow, you can facilitate one plant becoming many 10s of more plants in a growing season, all while being in the pot.
For herbs that are marginally hardy or not overwintering hardy here, we can pot them up, while stool layering them, and after a winter indoors we'll have a PILE more plants to set out next spring!
