Remembering Dad
Dad is gone. We are heartbroken to say goodbye.
This is a video montage from Dad's memorial service on Tuesday January 11th, 2022.
Dad passed away on Thursday night (1-6-22) due to a pulmonary embolism. This was related to an injury that he sustained back in October where he fell and broke his leg while working on his RV for an upcoming camping trip that we had scheduled. If you saw our video from Mount Magazine State Park you will remember how sad we were that mom and Dad were not able to join us on that trip which we had scheduled a year in advance. Dad was so excited about that trip! He was ready to go and was prepping the RV they day before we were due to leave for Mount Magazine when the accident happened. Dad suffered a compound fracture that took a couple of surgeries to set right and put him on the path to recovery. Apparently, blood clots had formed in the leg that subsequently made their way up to his heart and lungs to catastrophic effect.
Words cannot express our deep longing to see him again. We miss his jokes, his fatherly advice, his excitement for the future and his passion for camping together and living life to the fullest.
We are broken.
