The Mazda CX-5 has a ripper of a reputation in the market for offering a plush, pleasant and powerful drive experience.

But with newer rivals resetting the bar, does the CX-5 GT SP turbo-petrol model still have what it takes to win over family car buyers?

In this test, family reviewer Emily Agar put the $50k-ish five-seat Mazda CX-5 2022 GT SP Turbo through its paces to see how it performs all these years after its launch.

This is the facelifted model, and GT SP is a new-ish trim grade, but Emily reckons it could be the sporty looking SUV that will make its way on to many potential buyers' shopping lists.
