My Take:
It was an honor to be trusted with some of Marlee and Ross Bedford’s most precious moments with their daughter Amris. I greatly appreciate it. One of my best friend’s on earth is her Uncle Trey Walker and this situation was rough on my small hometown, but in no comparison to what those closest to her had to endure.
This song also serves to be a tribute to my friend Jason Daley aka Juice, who shared a dream with us at Traylormade for many years….before we even called it Traylormade. One of the most powerful moments in my life was when I got the chance to help shoot the video ‘Brother’ that Breadwin Deville wrote about Jay, and we returned to his childhood home with his Mother Karen Daley for the video. I don’t think any of us are able to put into prospective how vital the moments we share are until we look back, sometimes years and years later.
Also Tank Mckee and Chris Tolliver who would faithfully come to shows and support us. We greatly appreciate their dedication and their desire to see us all succeed.
I don’t know why I get certain inspirations to write about certain subjects. Sometimes it is as if the track was made to share these thoughts on and I just go with the flow so to speak. I hate every second that comes off the clock and I love the people that are in my life. If this song helps anyone get over a heavy loss or an untimely death, then I have accomplished all I could ever want to through music. Thank you.
Lyrics:
We gotta stop all the comparisons
Live inside these moments learn to cherish 'em
See the value when we sharing 'em
The blessing of life is life,
Those ain’t real problems keeping you up till midnight
Most of us are blessed, far more than we acknowledge
But we basing wealth off whatever we can make in dollars
Have you ever seen a community rally behind
A little girl that the doctor’s only gave a little time
Its brutal, rips your heart from your chest
And everywhere the parents go whenever they're addressed
People wanna know a status and if its in remission
But all they wanna do is see her dancing in the kitchen
On a Saturday night in her pajamas with a care free smile
And restore that precious energy inside their child
I know Dad’s gotta think, Lord why us?
All while preaching the importance of never giving up
And having faith, Man, the strength that that must take
And Mama’s got to always be a happy face
I know they wish more than anything that this is all a dream
And maybe in time that’s what it seems, but things
Couldn’t get much tougher to endure
When no one is looking they collapsing to the floor
Behind closed doors they're at their weakest points
Begging to take her place if they only had the choice,
Because If I could I would
Hook:
If I could I would,
Any time, any day, any place
I'd fall right over myself
Sacrifice
Verse 2:
Don’t take for granted the little things and simple conversations
The good times and the smiles that kept us motivated
A few lines my boy Juice wrote into his verse
In what turned out to be our last song on this Earth
I think you taught us all a big lesson big bro
Its all about the journey not the big shows
We try to stay tighter, try to keep in touch
We still ain’t reached all the goals that we thought we was
But we pushing, and we learning from the past
And every video they watch at the end they hear your laugh
We miss you down here, I know Breadwin been hurting
Ur songs echo that tomorrows uncertain
And rest in peace Tank and Chris,
thank ya’ll for showing up and believing in this
I wish I could say tomorrow, that this would all make sense
But the fact of the matter is we all pay rent
We don’t own a thing here it all gets left behind
And eventually the memories are gone in time
Sad but true, I’m just thankful that I have a few
While I’m here to make some sense out what we going through
Over due, I’ve wanted so long to be recognized
But now days I’m really not certain why
Cause music people are parasites ain’t nothing real in ‘em
And I been using some of my best years to deal with ‘em
