Episode 17 - YARA - Two Spanish frigates obstruct the exit of the bay and prevent the Thunderbolt from exiting the port. With an ingenious stratagem, which proves for time the valour of Carmaux, Van Stiller, Moko, Leila and their animals, the ship manages to get out, and Yara relates her sad story to the Black Corsair. Her father, the chief of her tribe, had aided Van Gould, who was the only survivor of a shipwreck. They had treated him with hospitality, and once he had recovered, Van Gould left promising he would return to reward them. Shortly thereafter, Van Gould returned with the intention of robbing the Indians of the enormous quantity of gold they kept in secret places as offering to the gods.
