The Truth About Buying A Cheap Beater Car to Save Money

I have been preaching for months that you should ditch your car payment and buy an old Japanese commuter car - a beater. While this option is cheaper, its not as simple as dropping your auto loan and driving off into the sunset.

Old cars break, and to go this route you have to be prepared to roll up your sleeves and work on things yourself. In fact, my 1995 Honda Accord is not starting right now. Today, we're going to try and fix it ourselves and explore what it really takes to daily drive a 30 year old car.
