Sakal Ban

The Sakal Ban song, dating back to the 12th-13th Century, originated from a tale involving Amir Khusro. On Basant Panchami, seeing people adorning yellow clothes and carrying mustard flowers to temples, Khusro danced to please his mentor, Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia. He brought the flowers, saying he offered them to his own God.
