Wood Bison Field Identification

A major challenge for Yukon's wildlife managers is the maintenance of bison numbers while not jeopardizing the herd's long term health. To avoid problems with genetic diversity and reproduction in the future, wildlife managers are trying to maintain a fairly even sex ratio in the herd. That means that hunters should be selective in their choice of animal.
