Father's Day Weekend Weather: Drought Continues Despite Tropical System

The two big headlines of heat and drought continue as we head into the upcoming weekend, with Father’s Day and the first day of Summer on Sunday!

We’re tracking a tropical system moving out of the Gulf and across the deep south as we move through Thursday evening and into Friday morning. While this once had the chance to bring us some real drought denting rain, that chance seems to be fleeting. Still, expect some scattered rain, storms, and a breezy conditions for Thursday evening and into Friday morning. Areas across South Carolina and Georgia may get some really good rain though.

For the weekend, expect it to be hot and humid again with temps hovering in the upper 80s to near 90 Friday through Sunday. We may get another shot at some rain by the middle of next week.
