1. Foundation.
A lot of you today say that marriage is hard work. It is not.
Like in any sport, preparation is the most important process. My gym coach always used to tell me train hard, win easy.
And so on the onset of any relationship, preparation is important in ensuring that you set the right foundation. This right foundation should be based on truth, honesty and loyalty. No masks on. Getting to know the other persons experiences and expectations.

2. Power of the tongue.
We have been told of many wars that have been started in the world due to misuse of the tongue and even wars that have been ended due to proper use of the tongue.
You must at all times watch what you say, when you say it and how you say it.
One person said that knowledge is knowing what to say but wisdom is knowing when to say it.
Words pierce deeper that a sword and can leave lifelong damage to someone. You cannot just use words and take them back as you please.

3. 24 hr. rule.
Don't let the sun go down while you are still angry. This is a very important principle in any relationship for it ensures that things are sorted out as early as possible and they do not carry on for days. Turning an anthill into a mountain.
However please note that this is not possible if either party has pride and ego. Your pride and ego will always hinder you from actualizing the 24 hr rule
