Abstarct - The Solar Powered Grass Cutter is a smart mechatronic system that utilizes a NodeMCU (ESP8266) to host a local web server, allowing for wireless navigation via a mobile phone. The machine's mobility is managed by an L298N motor driver that controls two DC gear motors based on user inputs from the web interface. For the cutting mechanism, a high-speed 555 12V DC motor is equipped with sharp blades to trim grass efficiently. The entire system is powered by an 11.1V battery pack (three 3.7V cells in series), which can be replenished by a solar panel to ensure eco-friendly operation. A physical ON/OFF switch is integrated into the circuit to safely manage the power flow to the controller and motors. By combining IoT connectivity with renewable energy, this project provides a sustainable and labor-saving solution for modern lawn maintenance.
Apparatus Details
NodeMCU (ESP8266): Functions as the main controller, receiving Wi-Fi commands and hosting the web server.
