IBEROSTAR ISLA CANELA HOTEL ROOM

A look around the Iberostar Isla Canela Hotel Room 1305 which is in the South of Spain, very close to the Portugal border. We flew into Faro airport in Portugal and travelled over the border to the Iberostar Isla Canela hotel. The trip took about 1 hour.

The hotel is very clean and tidy with excellent facilities, the staff were very attentive and pleasant and the room we had was great. I would certainly recommend this hotel. We travelled here in early May and stayed for one week.

We stayed here with the all inclusive option and we were not disappointed. The selection of food at all meal times was wide and varied and the quality was very good. If you are a fish eater then you are very well catered for. There was always something for everyone.

Getting served at the bar was never a problem, even at the busy times, and it was premium brands that were served without surcharge. The weekend was very busy as it is used by the portuguese and Spanish for their weekend getaways. You can expect to see a lot of children.

The room we had was at the front of the hotel with a view of the seafront, which had a balcony. We paid a little extra for this room to ensure we had a view. The room was a good size, clean, modern and serviced daily.

The Iberostar Isla Canela is modern throughout and has all the usual facilities you would expect from a hotel of this quality. The entertainment is geared up for the kids in the early evening and changes later to include the adults. The quality of the entertainment was a bit mixed and varied throughout our stay but we were only there to have a nice chilled out and relaxing holiday so we had no problems with it.

The hotel is situated a short walk from the beach, about 4 or 5 minutes along a boardwalk through the trees. The beach stretches for quite a distance and the sand is lovely. The water can be a bit cold though.

Beyond the hotel, there is not much else that is close by, other than the harbour area which does have a small number of nice restaurants and bars. It's at the harbour you can get the small ferry over to Isla Christina which is worth a trip and does not cost a lot. I think there is a ferry once an hour. On the other side of the harbour there is a few shops and bars and also a Tabak.

If you are looking for bustling nightlife and a fast paced break then this is not really the place for you. If you are looking to have a nice chilled relaxing holiday in nice surroundings without the hustle and bustle of city centres then I would recommend this hotel for you. I would certainly consider going back here. Keep in mind, we went in early May which is only the start of holiday season so it may get a lot busier at peak times.
