TODAY'S GOSPEL: Mark 1:40-45

The Gospel for this Sunday reminds us of the power of God’s compassion. Grace is always available, but we must ask for it. This is what the story of the leper teaches us. That we have in ourselves the capability to ask for God’s healing, and that we are instruments of it, as well. Let us not forget that the Church is the body and presence of Christ in the world. So as we approach the Lenten season, let us pray to be the kind of Church where people can bring their hopes and woundedness and desire for healing. Let us pray that we may become a Church that embodies the mercy, compassion, and love of Christ.
